Style Sampler With Dancers Unlimited
In March, Vivistop Honolulu partnered with Dancers Unlimited to host a powerful series of donation-based workshops — created to make dance more accessible and to encourage people to explore styles they may have been curious about, or never knew they'd love.
The first series, called the Style Sampler (March 10–13), offered four days of diverse movement led by a lineup of incredible local and visiting artists:
Mar 10 – House w/ Linda
Mar 11 – Partnering w/ Kingsley
Mar 12 – Floorwork w/ Melvin
Mar 13 – Krump w/ CRT
Each session invited dancers of all experience levels to try something new in a welcoming, no-pressure space. Whether someone was stepping into class for the first time or returning after a break, these workshops emphasized exploration and expression over perfection.
Later in the month, the energy continued with three more sessions:
March 19 – Choreography Workshop w/ Litsie
March 19 – Afro House Session w/ DJ UGUM
March 20 – Salsa Workshop w/Abril
From club roots to cultural traditions, from storytelling through choreography to social dance vibes, every class offered something different, yet shared the same goal: building community through movement.
All of the workshops were donation-based, grounded in the belief that dance should be available to anyone willing to show up and try. It wasn’t just about fundraising. It was about access, freedom, and the joy of finding something that moves you, literally and emotionally.
Huge mahalo to Dancers Unlimited and all the teaching artists who brought their time, energy, and heart to the space. And to every participant who showed up open and curious, you helped make it what it was.
