Kid-Led Workshops

On April 26, three participants from Vivistop’s Dream Incubator Program hosted our Kid-Led Workshops. A set of hands-on experiences designed and taught by the youth themselves. Each workshop was built around their business ideas and passions, giving them a chance to step into leadership while creating something meaningful for the community.

These workshops weren’t just about teaching a skill. They were about sparking something in the kids who showed up. A moment of curiosity, a burst of confidence, or the feeling of “I made that.” Whether someone came in unsure or excited, they left having tried something new and connected with the young creator behind it.

Here’s what we offered:

  • Ijah’s Screen Printing
Ijah walked participants through the screen printing process from start to finish. Guests got to choose their design, prep their material, and pull their own prints on a pouch. A hands-on intro to a medium that’s equal parts art and process.

  • Mana’s Ice Cream
Mana shared his homemade ice cream recipe, taught his method step by step, and gave participants the chance to make and enjoy their own creations (with only needing a few ingredients, rock salt, ice, and a ziploc bag. The workshop was simple, fun, and full of flavor, just like Mana’s brand.

  • Lino’s Polymer Clay Clock Workshop (Postponed)
Lino’s workshop, which involves molding custom polymer clay figures and turning them into magnets to be used in place of numbers on a clock face, has been postponed due to material and scheduling delays. It’s still in the works, and we can’t wait to bring it to life soon.

Big mahalo to Ijah and Mana for leading the way, and to everyone who came to learn, create, and support. The kids weren’t just showing what they know; they were sharing what they love, in hopes that someone else might discover a spark of their own. We’re excited to reschedule Lino’s workshop and to keep creating spaces where keiki can lead, teach, and inspire.
