original Toy Figure Workshop
Vivistop Honolulu hosted one of its first-ever design and fabrication experiences: the Original Toy Figure Workshop. This 3-day workshop brought together creativity, technology, and hands-on making — giving kids the chance to imagine, build, and walk away with a product entirely their own.
It all started with a sketch. Kids designed original characters and creatures, then learned how to 3D model their designs using beginner-friendly software. Once the digital prototypes were finalized, we sent them off to be printed — turning each idea into a real, custom toy.
A huge mahalo to Simply 3D Hawaii for not only providing a space for the workshop but also printing each student’s design. Their support brought this experience to life in a way that felt tangible, exciting, and real.
But we didn’t stop at the figures. After painting and assembling their toys, participants shifted gears and became product designers — creating packaging that reflected their toy’s identity. They designed backboards, boxes, and custom labels to complete the full unboxing experience.
By the end of the 3 days, each kid went home with a fully packaged, store-ready toy, something that looked like it belonged on a retail shelf, but was dreamed up entirely by them.
This workshop planted the seeds for so much of what Vivistop would grow into: empowering kids with tools to bring ideas to life, and reminding them that their imagination isn’t just valid, it’s market-worthy.
