The Future is Keiki Market
On April 19, 2025, Vivistop Honolulu launched its first-ever standalone market: The Future is Keiki Market at Kahala Mall. This vibrant community event showcased youth entrepreneurs who had spent weeks building their own brands, products, and ideas through our pilot Dream Incubator Program.
In just four hours, more than 800 handmade and thoughtfully designed items were sold, from jewelry and laser-cut characters to locally made treats and streetwear brands. Collectively, these young creators earned over $9,000 in sales, and in the most powerful full-circle moment, every single vendor gave back a portion of their earnings, raising over $1,400 to support future youth programs at Vivistop. The future is looking bright.
But this event wasn’t just about popping up. It was about showing up, taking risks, and being seen. Each table represented a young person who had the courage to turn an idea into something real and to share it with the world.
At Vivistop, we’ve always believed that youth deserve more than just a place to participate, they deserve a platform to shine. The Future is Keiki Market made that belief visible.
This market was:
A public celebration of youth voice and self-expression
A real-world space to test ideas and practice entrepreneurship
A joyful reminder that kids aren’t just the future — they’re already creating it
Some moments we won’t forget:
A vendor who planned to leave early because she wasn’t feeling well, but stayed and sold out… even landing a custom order
Lines at both the cashier stand and one of the sweet treat booths that grew so long, the mall had to bring out line dividers and signs to clear the walkway
Parents and community members stopping by with kind words, support, and gratitude for what this space is doing for their kids
The Future is Keiki Market wasn’t the end of a program. It was the beginning of something bigger. A glimpse into what’s possible when youth are trusted to lead with creativity, courage, and care.
We’re excited to plan the next one if we get the funding to continue. Let’s keep this momentum going because the future is keiki, and they’re just getting started.
